Welcome sisters and brother of Christ to But First, Jesus and then Coffee! I'm so glad you're here. This blog is a place for honest, heartfelt conversations about faith and life. Growing up, I was saved young but never really understood what it meant to walk with the Lord, leaving me to navigate faith without guidance. Over time, I found myself longing to truly know Jesus and to live not for the world, but for Him.
Hello and welcome to But First, Jesus and then Coffee! I’m so glad you’ve decided to stop by. Here, you’ll find a space dedicated to honest conversations about faith, transformation, and what it truly means to walk with the Lord. I want this site to be a haven for those who, like me, know what it’s like to feel lost in faith yet deeply longing to follow Jesus.
A Little About My Journey
I was saved at twelve years old, but at that age, I barely understood what salvation meant. I was expected to attend church, sing along, listen to sermons, and somehow know everything I needed about God. Looking back, I realize how much I was missing—the wisdom, guidance, and understanding of the Lord’s teachings that a child in faith truly needs. The assumption that church attendance would lead to a deep, meaningful relationship with God couldn’t have been further from the truth. Without a guide, I walked a long road of trying to live in faith but often falling short, sometimes feeling like I was living more for the world than for Him.
In my household we often watched T.V series of Xena, the Warrior Princess, Greek myths, witches (Charmed, Hocus Pocus, etc). Make no mistake, we still went to church, but as you can see we were confused where our loyalties lied. You can not serve two masters. In church they never discussed the power of the Lord and him blessing others with spiritual gifts and if you were granted with spiritual gifts, they didn't come from Him. So, here lied my main confusing. I was an Empath who was granted with visions of the future, highly favourable where whatever I spoke with raw emotion came to pass. I was know as the curser. I was gifted in the elements, including spirit, being able to see and speak to the dead. In short I was a freak with childhood trauma that made me fear the opposite sex. Yes, I was a helpless mess.
No one could explain these gifts I was (cursed) 'blessed' with. I was told to ignore them and they will dissipate. So, I did and they just ended up getting stronger and I ended up falling further into a pit destined for destruction.
Anything and everything I wanted, it was easy enough for me to obtain. In my heart and mind, I walked around with the protection of my father who was the most powerful man in the world, rich beyond anything I could ever pronounce and loved me effortlessly and unconditionally. Boy, oh boy was I living in my truth without even knowing it.
Through many struggles, I eventually found myself drawn back to Jesus, not out of obligation, but out of genuine yearning and like most of us, heartbreak of some sort. My heart was hungry to know Him more intimately, to understand His ways, and to walk in obedience. And now, by His grace, I'm here, learning every day, growing in my walk, and letting Him lead me through the ups and downs of life. Teaching me, showing me and yes, even correcting me when I most need it.
As a Priestess, my job is not to tell you how to pray or how to worship. My job is to teach you the laws, practices and commandments of the Lord. In your spirit you know how to connect with your Heavenly Father, you know what is expected of you. The issue we all face is not allowing our flesh to overrule or over power God's love and law. Romans 8v7-8 tells us that our flesh will never submit to the Lord and our Spirit will never submit to our flesh. The Lord speaks to each and everyone of us, it's only a matter of whether or not we hear and listen.
The vocation of a Priestess is to help guide you to our Lord and to walk an obedient life that will prepare you for an eternity with our Father. You will not find any of those social media trends here. You will not witness me telling you that you have to grab yourself a paper bible because you're not suppose to grab your phone first. I have many bible in my home, but my favourites are on electronic devices, they're just easier to navigate through. There is no judgement here, I could not possibly know the relationship between you and the Father, no one but Him could.
That's why our title is "But First, Jesus and then Coffee. " When you wake up in the morning, put Jesus First, before you climb out of bed put Jesus first. Thank Him for generously granting you another day to praise Him and His Glorious name.
The scribes in the Good Word were just as you and me, until our Father God made them write for all to read.
Father God made Kings and rulers. He made the way where there was no way. He sees the paths we do not, it is our job to trust His process and trust that He knows what is best for us because as Jeremiah tells us in 29v11-16 -
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you,” says Yahweh,
“thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
You shall call on me, you shall go and pray to me,
And I will listen to you.
You shall seek me and find me,
When you search for me with all your heart.
Your journey is yours alone and can not be compared to mine or anyone else's. That's what makes us Unique and special.
I will be found by you,” says Yahweh
You shall seek me and find me,
When you search for me with all your heart.
